[Eat] Dinner at a steakhouse — it can be good for you (St. Paul Pioneer Press | 08/14/06)
I’d quibble a little bit here, because most of the steakhouses you’d want to dine at would probably end up being a little unhealthy for your wallet. Even though having a fat wallet is unhealthy for your spine… Lots of these places with the a la carte sides charge you an extra eight or nine bucks each for them.
I’m not saying to avoid steak restaurants though; but I tend to be biased against that model. Just because, hey, I’m plunking down forty-three bucks, the least they could do is slice in half a fifty cent potato and stick some little dishes of sour cream and butter next to it, am I right?
However:
Steer clear of … Mashed potatoes: Some recipes are so high in fat they’re more like potato ice cream.
